The Island Rug Collection is a limited-edition series including 11 Australian islands. 10 of the rugs represent islands with a unique volcanic story, covering the entire 4.6-billion-year geological timeline.

geological stories of Australia

These islands are situated on the East coast of Australia and their volcanic character is due to their proximity to an underlying volcanic arc. The other Island is Rottnest Island, in Western Australia, which is young geologically and not volcanic, but we included it because we love Rotto!

Each rug is designed in Melbourne and hand made in Nepal in collaboration with Loom Rugs. The wool is from New Zealand and hand dyed to achieve a very specific colour spectrum.
